Register Assets

Assets in locations need to be registered in the Asset App.

Register a New Asset

This section describes how to register new assets in the application.

1. Click the Settings icon and select New Asset under Register section. Or click the button on the Asset Dashboard. New asset registration page will appear.

2. In the Asset ID box, type the new Asset name.

3. In the Asset Category box, select the relevant Asset Category that the Asset belongs to.

4. In the Description box, type any description if required.

5. In the Site selection box, select the Site that the ‘Asset installed location’ belongs to. Locations that belong to the selected Site will be populated in the Installed Location box.

6. Configure “Installed Location”. There are three ways to specify a location. Installed Location: This is the location where the respective Asset is installed.

   1. Click in the Installed Location box which will display a list of locations which belong to the selected Site. Start typing in the box and it would filter the locations matching the typed in text. Select the relevant location.

   2. Click on the pinboard icon to select from a list of locations previously pinned to the pinboard.

   3. Click on the Search icon to bring up the location search popup window.

7. Select the Operational Status.

   • Operational: If the asset is in use.

   • Non-Operational: If the asset is currently not in use.

8. Select “This is a movable asset” check box if the asset is used to move, store, protect and control inventory, e.g., Printers, Projectors.

9. Enable Asset Tracking check box: This feature is used to record GPS coordinate details of the respective asset.

   Note: The Enable Asset Tracking feature is supported when certain integration is available in the project. If the project does not have this integration, the asset tracking feature is not necessary.

10. Click Create to save the Asset. A new Asset will be created, and the Asset's detailed page will open to configure its further details.
