Asset Scope Configuration
Asset Scope Configuration involves defining and restricting a user's access to specific assets based on their User Role (User Roles configured in the Asset app).
For instance, a 'Technician' role can be configured to access only assets within their working location.

Settings icon on the Asset Dashboard-->Configure section -->Asset Scope Configuration
Configure the asset scopes for the selected user roles by following these steps:
Click the Settings icon
and go to Configure section -->Asset Scope Configuration.
Asset Scope Configuration page opens.
Configure Asset Scope for the selected User Role.
Click the
Add icon. Add Asset Scope Configuration window will appear.
User Role selection box: Select the desired user role. All the User Roles configured in the Asset app will be listed.
Configure Asset scope as necessary.
Asset Scope Options
Description
All Assets
Select the All Assets check box to grant access to all the assets in the system for the selected User Role.
If this check box is selected, the rest of the check boxes will be disabled, applying all the asset scope options for the selected User Role.
If you want to configure asset scope without allowing access to all the assets, deselect this check box and select or deselect other scope check boxes as necessary.
User’s Site Assets
Select the User’s Site Assets check box to grant access to the assets related to the user’s Site.
User's Work Location Assets
Select the User's Work Location Assets check box to grant users to access the assets within their working location.
User's Assigned Assets
Select the User's Assigned Assets check box to allow access to assets assigned to the logged-in user.
Assets on User's Location Scope
Select the Assets on User's Location Scope check box to allow access to assets in the logged-in user’s location scope.
Asset Category Wise Assets
Select Asset Category Wise Assets check box to include assets from the specified asset category.
For instance,
When the Asset Category Wise Assets check box is selected, Asset Category section will appear for users to add required Asset Categories.
To select Asset Categories, select the Asset Category Wise Assets check box and click the Add icon
and select required asset categories from the search window.
After selecting the required categories, click the
icon to close the window.
After defining the asset scope, click Add. The new scope will be applied to the selected User Role and displayed on the Asset Scope Configuration page.
Repeat the steps 1-4 to add more scopes.
To edit an existing asset scope, click the respective
Edit icon. Configure the asset scope as required and click Update.
To delete an existing asset scope, click the respective
Delete icon.
